Metaponto is an archaeological site near Metaponto, a hamlet of Bernalda in the province of Matera. The archaeological park is two kilometres from the National Archaeological Museum of Metaponto, where many of the finds found there are kept. The most notable testimonies of the site are the antiquarium, the theater, the Roman castro, the town's agora, the necropolis, the temples of Apollo Licio, Demetra, Aphrodite, Hera and the Palatine Tables, the temple that bounded the boundaries of the ancient city dedicated to Hera.
