Aglianico del Vulture wine route encompasses the municipalities of Matera, Pietragalla, Acerenza, Venosa, Lavello, Melfi, Rapolla, Rionero of Transfers, Atella, Barrel and power. From power, the route climbs North to reach the production area of the Doc. Atella, other country itinerary keeps in the historic parts of the medieval walls with towers and gates. Rionero in Vulture, major production center of Doc, is located in the woods of the volcano, lying between two hills covered with vineyards. Also, a few kilometres away, is a center of ancient winemaking tradition, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. The product under the tutelage of this denomination is the Aglianico del Vulture Doc.
