Monte Consolino (701 m a.s.l.) is a South-Western Calabria, belonging to the chain of greenhouses, which rises in the Vallata dello Stilaro. At its feet lies the municipality of Stylus, downstream between Chan and Monte Stella is the municipality of Bivongi, Pazzano and finally the common near the river Stilaro. It is bordered to the North and East by the river Stilaro, in the North there are a series of terraces one of which lies the municipality of Pazzano behind even of Mount Stella. Further down the terraces come after meeting the municipality of Bivongi the Stilaro. To the Southwest the mountain slopes down more gently and you will come across the town of Stilo. The Summit is the old Norman castle built by Roger II of Sicily. Further down, on a small plateau are the remains of the ancient fortified settlement of stylus that resisted for 6 years the Arab invasion, the so-called Kastrum 9th-century Byzantine. The Castle and the Kastrum are reachable from Stylus from two paths. Since 2009 is an ongoing restoration.
