The regional natural park of the greenhouses is a protected natural area of Calabria, established in 2004. Located between the Aspromonte and Sila, is crossed by two long ranges, from large forests, including the Bosco di Stilo, and rivers with waterfalls as the cascata del Marmarico (the highest, of 118 m), in the municipality of Bivongi, and Somber Stone waterfall on the river Assi Guardavalle. Geologically the Park is characterized by graniti, porphyry, serpentine, diorites and quartz rocks. The gullies then are a geological feature of the greenhouses, especially in the North and East of the Park. The Park is divided into several areas for its variety of natural environments in such a way that they apply different protective measures depending on the area and land conservation.
