Ercolano is a town in the province of Naples in Campania. The town is famous for its legendary origins and for its archaeological excavations, which, with those of Pompeii and Oplontis, since 1997 are part of the UNESCO World Heritage list. The archaeological excavations of Herculaneum, have always been a regular destination of thousands of tourists a year, thanks to the new site for access to the excavations as well as the new area under development near the new entrance that already includes a parking space on two levels at the forefront. No shortage of places of interest in the modern city: the main street of the city, corso Resina, which connects Herculaneum in Naples, owns a stretch known as the golden mile, for the presence of significant architectural works: the vesuvian villas, Villa April, Villa Battisti, Villa and Parco della Favorita and Villa Campolieto, cultural events, shows and concerts. Another place of interest is the Basilica di Pugliano, placed at the upper end of via Pugliano, famous for the old market of used clothing, among the oldest in Italy. Also from Herculaneum, you can reach the Vesuvius National Park: the road to the crater lava stone carving has a permanent Museum created by sculptors of international renown.
