The Ceno Valley is a valley of the Ligurian Apennines, in the province of Parma (but formerly belonging to the province of Piacenza). It is formed by the river of the same name, which comes from the mount Penna and flows, after 63 km, in Taro as left tributary. It is bordered to the South and East by the val di Taro to the West by the Aveto Valley, on the North by the Arda Valley and val Nure in the province of Piacenza. The Valley is closed from the mountains: Pen (1735), Taking (1602), ox (1775), Maggiorasca (1804), Ragola (1710), Orocco (1372), Carameto (1328). Is put into communication with Liguria via the Romezzano (1399) and that of Taking (1494); with Piacenza province through the pass of Zovallo (1405), the pass of Pianazze (987), step Linguadà and Pellizzone (1029).
