The Castelli Romani regional park is a protected natural area of Lazio region which is located in the area of the Alban hills, near Rome. The municipalities that are part of are 15. This artistic and naturalistic regional Park extends into the area of the ancient Volcano of Latium. Many of the municipalities of the Castelli Romani share protected areas of the Park, including Nemi, whose territory lies entirely within its boundary. Of particular interest are the archaeological site of Tusculum, as well as the numerous villas. The Park also includes the Lake Albano, said Lake of Castel Gandolfo and Lake Nemi. The Park is always open as this is a territory without any barrier, extended for about 15000 hectares. There are therefore neither timetables nor limitations other than those relating to access private properties, or of archaeological sites managed by the Soprintendenza per i beni archeologici del Lazio. The Park organizes guided tours, seasonal programs that allow you to fully appreciate the Castelli Romani area.
