Nazzano regional nature reserve Tevere Farfa is located on the border between the provinces of Rome and Rieti, in the municipalities of Nazzano, Torrita Tiberina and Montopoli di Sabina, along the lower course of the River Tiber. The reserve occupies a modest part of the ancient alluvial plain of the River Tiber. The landscape of the reserve is characterized by the morphology of the Tiber that flows slowly along this stretch forming large loops and meanders. The River Valley, typically alluvial deposits of clays, Sands and gravels, is surrounded by small hills formed by sediments of marine origin. The abundance of birds in the Lake environment constitutes one of the most interest to visitors.
