Su Gologone is the main spring of a vast Karst system located in Sardinia, in the area of the Supramonte di Oliena, in the province of Nuoro. From its source, which is located in the municipality of Oliena, originates a short Creek that feeds the river Cedrino. The water flows out from a crack in the limestone, which delves into the subsoil to a depth currently explored by speleologists of 107 meters. Maximum span source lean was detected in 1995 to 60 litres per second while the full range is estimated at 8000 litres. With an average flow of 300 liters of water per second is the main source of Sardinia. By a decree of the Department of environmental protection of Sardinia was established in natural monument.
