The Uccellina mountains are a group of hills along the coastline of the Maremma grossetana that divides the North from the plain of the river Ombrone plain Albegna South, in the territories of the municipalities of Grosseto, Magliano in Toscana and Orbetello. The Group of hills, which reaches 417 metres above sea level on the top of the Poggio Lecci, extends into the municipalities of Grosseto, Magliano in Toscana and Orbetello, standing a few kilometres south of the mouth of the Ombrone River, near the town of Alberese, and sloping down to the southern end at Talamone, where the western end of the Bay of Talamone. The whole area of the Uccellina mountains is included inside the natural park of Maremma; the shoreline looks high and rocky, except for the evocative Cala di Forno that opens to the winds of the Mistral.
