The Sciliar-Catinaccio natural park (German: Naturpark Schlern-Rosengarten) is a natural area of 6796 hectares, located in the Western chain of the Dolomites in South Tyrol. The natural park was established in 1974, the first of seven parks in the province of Bolzano, and together with the protected area of the Alpe di Siusi, forming a large natural area. The Park is famous for two of its most famous peaks: punta Santner and punta Euringer. The Sciliar (Schlern) has as its highest point mount Petz, with its 2563 meters above sea level. From the year 2003 the Catinaccio is part of the natural area. Was opened near the Bathrooms to Lavina Bianca (Weißlahnbad), in the municipality of Tires, the information centre Steger Säge, the visitor center of the Park. The Center is housed in an old water mill that ran a sawmill hydraulics, active since 1598 till the end of the 1950 's. In addition to this Visitor Center, near the Lake of Fiè is an information point (Infostelle Völser Weiher). The Park includes municipalities of Castelrotto, tiers, Völs am Schlern.
