The Marmore falls is a waterfall in controlled flow among the highest in Europe, relying on a gradient of 165 metres, divided into three jumps (the first, highest, of 83 metres). The waters of the waterfall are exploited intensively to produce electricity, in Galleto. To adjust the operation of the plant and to allow vision at all, at different times and periods defined, the waterfall is operated at full capacity. Normally, the waterfall works a few hours a day, with extended operating hours during holidays.
