Even if they do not reach the height of Monte Cervati, the Alburni mountains, culminating in 1742 meters with peak of Sapwood, which gives its name to the entire group, appearing as a huge sloping plank with asymmetric sides; the ridges overlooking the valle del Sele and Tanagro, rise steep, with a succession of spires, towers and spires that resemble the landscapes of the Dolomites. These mountains derive their name from Albus to indicate the whiteness of the buds. Full of paths and trails, the chain degli Alburni is now the heart of the Cilento National Park and Vallo di Diano. At the center of them, on a road connecting Sant'Angelo a Fasanella to Petina and Polla is a refuge, the Casone of Abdulrahman (1169 m), and just off the rock sculpture of the Antece.
