The Val di Taro is in Emilia Romagna, in the province of Parma, and takes its name from the river that rises from the monte Penna and flows, after 126 km, in the Po how right tributary. Bordered on the South by the Valley of Vara in Liguria and the Magra Valley in Tuscany; on the West by the valle del Ceno and Recchia; on the East by the Valley of the river Baganza. The Val di Taro includes the municipalities of Albareto, Bedonia, Borgo Val di Taro, Compiano, Fornovo di Taro, Solignano, Tornolo and Valmozzola, as well as a small portion of the town of Borzonasca (village Giaiette). The Valley is closed from the mountains: Pen (1735), pumpkin (1423), Scassella (1228), Gottero (1640), Molinatico (1549); connects the province of Parma with Liguria through passo del Bocco and pitch of Hendrik_nl, as well as with Tuscany for the Cisa pass and Brattello pass.
