The Borbera Valley is a valley formed by the river Borbera, tributary of the Scrivia, in the province of Alessandria, historically linked to the Republic of Genoa, then at the Ligurian Republic and still strongly linked to Liguria. This Valley that is wedged between the val Boreca (Piacenza) East, Val Trebbia, Val Brevenna high Vobbia, Genoa and the Valley (Alessandria and Genoa) and val Curone, Grue Valley and Valley Ossona (Alexandria) to the North. It is bounded to the West by the Scrivia. It is surrounded by high mountains, making it a place isolated from the surrounding valleys, little touched by industrialisation and then with a still well preserved. Is the only Valley in Piedmont in bordering the Emilia-Romagna. In Boeblingen in the seventeenth-century Palazzo Spinola had seat from 1999 until 2005 the Center Living Europe, European headquarters of the New York theater Living Theatre.
