Olbia is the capital, with Tempio Pausania, in the province of Olbia-Tempio in Sardinia. Rests against a flat and surrounded by beautiful hills, is the economic centre of the Gallura region and constitutes the most important passenger port of the island. A dynamic city booming which acts as a tourist destination not only for the beauty of the sea and the beaches, but also for the amount of landmarks to visit. The downtown main street is Corso Umberto, overlooked important period buildings, including the Town Hall and the municipal library Simpliciana. To visit is the National Archaeological Museum, whose main attraction are the Roman and medieval shipwrecks. In the city there are many shops where you can buy items of Sardinian, and restaurants where you can taste typical products of the local cuisine. Thanks to the Mediterranean climate, the walks along the seafront promenade are a pleasure even during the winter months.
