The oasis of Persano is a wetland of international importance according to the Ramsar Convention, located in Campania. It was established in 1980 to protect the reservoir born around 1930, following the damming of the river Sele with a dam operated by the consortium of reclamation in the right side of the river Sele in the municipalities of Countryside and greenhouses. Its size is about 110 hectares of which 70 occupied by water and grows at elevations ranging from 40 to 75 m Being the protected area located along the migration routes of birds, is part of the Natura 2000 sites. The OASIS is open all year round and has a visitor center with an adjoining a reconstruction for teaching purposes, of a village of the Paleolithic era. The nature trail has two nature trails: the trail along the left bank of about 1 km and a second route 400 m along the way, there are eight observation huts. Two other observation points are located on the right bank of the river Sele, one in the industrial area of countryside and another near the mouth of the Sele River tributary attuned.
