The regional park of the Sarno River is a protected nature reserve of the Campania region that includes most of the municipalities crossed by the Sarno (between Naples and Salerno). The Park has the objective, among others, to pursue a policy of development and land conservation. The geographic area managed by the body comprises most municipalities that the Sarno River crossing, crossing the provinces of Naples and Salerno. Among the most important sites, in addition to Pompeii whose excavations are a UNESCO World Heritage site, there are also Torre Annunziata and Castellammare di Stabia that represent important archaeological sites that date back to the Roman Empire, the artistic city of Nocera Inferiore with the Cathedral, the monastery of Sant'Anna, the Church of San Matteo, the medieval castle, the archaeological excavations, the Santuario di Montalbino the municipality of architectural and archaeological sites, Sarno presenting civic Door of St. Nicholas in Striano, the medieval centre of Angri, the archaeological site of Longola between Poggiomarino and Striano, the farmers ' Museum of the Sarno River in the commune of Striano and seaside resorts (like Pozzano) belonging to the municipality of Castellammare di Stabia.
